Brand new outdoor pool and bar opening May 2012!
PLUS Florence is proud to announce that we'll be opening our brand new outdoor swimming pool in May 2012. All guests will be able to enjoy the new facilities free of charge. Due to the opening of the new facilities the indoor pool, sauna and steam room will be closed during the summer.

Room Overview
4 bed dorms
Contains 2 bunk beds or 1 bunk and 2 single beds and ensuite bathroom. All beds come with private reading lamp, fleece blankets and pillows. Each bed has its own storage locker that can be locked. Bed linen is provided.
6 bed dorms
Contains 3 bunk beds or 2 bunks and 2 single beds and ensuite bathroom. All beds come with private reading lamp, fleece blankets and pillows. Each bed has its own storage locker that can be locked. Bed linen is provided.
8 bed dorms
Contains 4 bunk beds or 3 bunks and 2 single beds and ensuite bathroom. All beds come with private reading lamp, fleece blankets and pillows. Each bed has its own storage locker that can be locked. Bed linen is provided.
Private doubles and twins
Contains 2 single beds or one double bed with ensuite bathroom. All beds come with private reading lamp, fleece blankets and pillows. Each bed has its own storage locker that can be locked. Bed linen is provided.
PLUS Girls
4,6 or 8 bed dorms with large ensuite bathroom,towels, hair dryer, complimentary cosmetic pack. All beds come with private reading lamp, fleece blankets and pillows. Each bed has its own storage locker that can be locked. Bed linen is provided.
* Please note that from the 01/07/11 a new "Tourist Tax" ordered by the Florence council wll be put into place. The tax of €1 per night per person is compulsory for all guests of PLUS Florence.

CHECK-IN
The reception staff at PLUS Florence were born ready. Check in is after 3pm and check out is at 10am. Feel free to arrive before 3pm and leave your bags in our secure luggage storage locker. For any other issue you might have the desk is open 24-7.
INTERNET/WIFI
Get connected in the reception area on one of the PC's or if you have your own laptop you will find we are totally wired with WiFi (not just by the espresso's) all over the hostel.
OPERA BASEMENT BAR & RESTAURANT
Not your average ordinary watering hole but a PLUS one. An "all you can eat" buffet breakfast is available in the morning from 7am 'til 11am for just €6! You can even get a fantastic meal in the evening at our onsite restaurant with favourites such as mouth watering pizzas and pastas that aren't going to break the bank.
OPERA TERRACE BAR
The panoramic terrace bar has the best 360 view of Florence and overlooks the Duomo, just perfect for that sundowner at the end of the day.
PLUS TOURS - TRAVEL DESK
Pull up at the PLUS Tours and the fabulously hard working staff can sort out your tours, trips, tickets, timetables, travel plans and anything else beginning with T (even a T-bone steak!) for your stay in the Renaissance city.
LAUNDRY FACILITIES
Large 8kg washing and drying machines ready to take the meanest loads. Just ask at reception for details.
MONEY MATTERS
We accept all major credit cards as well as cash to pay for accommodation. You do not have to use the same credit card you booked with paying the balance at reception.
FITNESS EQUIPMENT
Open daily all year round. Our fitness area is available for those wishing to expend a bit more energy and get their body to look more like David's.
SWIMMING POOL
Take the plunge! Cool off in the summer, or relax after a long day walking around town. Our indoor pool is open all year round.
TURKISH BATH AND STEAM ROOM
There's no better way to flush out the excesses than with a little steam cleaning. Very handy for the day after the night before.
PARKING
Parking is available on a request basis upon arrival only. We have a small car park available and if there is space the fee is €15 per day. The parking places unfortunately cannot be pre-booked.
PLUS GROUPS
Whether it's an educational visit, business meeting, team building exercise, family reunion or cultural excursion PLUS Florence has the latest in group facilities.
We can accommodate up to any group size in a fun safe and clean environment, with full or partly catered options, a spacious group meeting area and secure off street bus parking. We also have the ability to seal off and secure floors to further guarantee your group's safety.
BY TRAIN
As you exit Santa Maria Novella through the exit next to the pharmacy and change bureau cross at the traffic lights and turn right. Walk towards the McDonald’s, turn left at that street with Mcdonalds on the corner, Largo continue up Via Nazionale, straight on up Piazza Indipendenza onto Via di Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, we are numbers 13-17 on the left hand side. The hostel is 900m from Firenze SMN station.
BY BUS
Exit the bus station onto the main road that passes in front of the train station, into Piazza della Stazione. Walk up towards the McDonalds, , cross the two sets of traffic lights towards the McDonald's, take the first street on your left, Largo Fratelli Alinari, continue up Via Nazionale, straight on up Piazza Inpdipendenza onto Via di Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, we are numbers 13-17 on the left hand side.
BY PLANE
-from Firenze Airport (Peretola)
The smaller of the two airports. Closer to the city at 5km but only takes internal Italian flights and a small number of European ones. Connections to the city are only by taxi or bus- Vola in Bus, every half hour 6am-11pm.
-from Pisa Airport (Galileo Gallilei)
A bigger domestic and international airport located on the coast, takes all the European budget airlines. City connections are by train (approx 1hr to Florence), taxi, public bus or Terravison bus. The main bus terminal is in Piazza della Stazione next to the train station.

PLUS is giving you the chance to make your overseas experience even more unique. On the 2nd July and 16th of August one of the biggest events in Italy, The Palio Horse Race in Siena is up there with "La Tomatina" and "Running of the Bulls" in terms of "must see's" on the backpacker itinerary. The event takes place in Siena (strangely enough). Share the passion and atmosphere with the locals as Siena's main square is transformed into make-shift race track as different quarters of the city battle it out to claim the all important bragging rights they crave. Looking for things to do in Florence this April? Here are our staff picks of the top things you shouldn't miss out on.
If you're in Florence this Easter (or any Easter for that matter) the Piazza Duomo is the best place to be! "The Explosion of the cart" is an annual event on Easter Sunday (8th of April) that captures the attention of both tourists and locals alike.
For those with a love of Vespas the Vespa Club Firenze are holding their annual tour. For those of you without a Vespa, not to worry as there's a big party the night before with live music and entertainment for all enthusiasts at the super cool venue of Sashall in Firenze Sud.
For the dancers amongst us the 10th annual Firenze Tango Festival is happening on the 25th of April. So grab your partner and prepare to be seduced!

This Saturday is "Brazillian night" at PLUS Florence!
So samba your way down to the Opera Basement Bar for a night filed with a real South American flavour.
There'll be a spectacular dance show that you can get involved in as well as testing both your rhythm and flexibility during our live capoeira demonstration.
